About Me

Well, I've been here at AP for awhile now, so I figure it's about time I updated my profile.

Sooo... Hihi! I'm Myaje, female, and at 29, it means I'm rapidly approaching the big THREE-O >_<. I keep trying to ignore my grey hairs. Regardless to my actual age, I still act like a teenager and some people still mistake me as one (thank you God!). And I'll let you guys in on a little secret... my handle is an anagram of my real name. Think you can figure it out? ;)

I love video games, probably since I started playing them when I was a youngster and gaming was just starting to hit its stride. That would be back in the late '80s, for those of you who were born in the 1990s or later. :P

My favorite genres are rpgs ans fighting games, my favorites from those genres would be the Dragon Quest/Warrior series, Final Fantasy I-VI, X and XII. The Guilty Gear series and just about anything from SNK that runs on the Neo Geo (yep, I do own one of those, its an arcade cabinet too. :D) specifically Samurai Spirits/Shodown II, and KOF '96.

Although I listed most of the Final Fantasy games, I am not an FF fan-girl, as I feel that FF's VII and Vi were the worst of the series (flame on folks, flame on) I don't remember enough of IX to pass judgement on it (even though I did nearly finish it, shows how much of an impression it made on me. :/) and XI I do like, but I really think it isn't a "true" enough FF to bear the name.

Of course, these aren't the only games I like to play, but due to a tragic accident a few years back, I can no longer use my right hand very much. I play by generally using my knuckles to mash the buttons, as my fingers don't curl or grip. Thank goodness my thumb pinches enough so that I can play my DS. Tragically, that means I have no way of playing the Wii, or Wii games that use the nunchuck to be clear. It really pains me that I can't play new games from the company that had such an impact on my early years of gaming, and I just can't seem to find any solution to this. At least I can play Twillight Princess on the Game Cube, but I hope the new Paper Mario won't need to use the nunchuck, because if I can't play at least that, I'll be devastated. ;_;

I love to cosplay, my favorite costume is Lulu from Final Fantasy X. But I feel my best costume was my one of Queen from Suikoden 3 (she's my avatar too, and my video game alter ego. We are so alike it's scary. O_o) it's this costume that won my first award. ^_^ Due to my injury, I don't do much cosplaying lately, but I did finally get my Shinigami Rukia costume together, and I dress as her one of these days. :/
